bike for timmy
In the summer of 2005, my two sons and I rode our bicycles from San Francisco to Washington D.C. to raise awareness for the Timmy Foundation. Lost on occasion, suffering heat exhaustion, and broken bikes, and Patrick being hit by a car, we managed to cover 2800 miles in 52 days.
The American Society of Media Photographers, ASMP, is an organization dedicated to education and advancement of professional photographers. There are over 7000 members and I am currently the co-president of the Ohio Valley Chapter which includes Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Columbus and Louisville.
Flashes of Hope provides professional portraits free to families of children stricken with cancer. The Indianapolis chapter has been active since March, 2007. I coordinate the photographers for this chapter which happen to be ASMP members. We shoot once per month at Riley Hospital for Children and every other month at Peyton Manning Childrens Hospital. To date, twenty photographers in the Indianapolis area have donated their time to this cause. We have produced a traveling show of twenty-two images that are B&W and measure six feet x four feet. The show has hung in the Arts Garden in downtown Indianapolis and at the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library in downtown Indianapolis. Midwest Graphics has provided their printing, storage and transportation services for this show.
